Rethinking Soviet Era mass housing in Kazakhstan

Mass high-rise, tenement housing in former Soviet bloc countries, built within the modernist genre, has proved to be problematical throughout history of architecture and urban planning. This study addresses features mass state Kazakhstan, which planning, artistic, psychological, social, aspects have resulted inhabitants? diminished quality life. The study?s findings reveal specific critical problems regarding typical tenements Kazakhstan for their inhabitants environments they occupy. An interdisciplinary approach reveals both negative positive characteristics various types Kazakh housing, with an emphasis on former. paper some potentialities recommendations renovation that would enhance life setting.
